Direct terms, in plain language.

These terms apply when you buy Mic Check directly through MicCheckMac.com. Apple’s terms and refund process apply to Mac App Store purchases.

Seller and merchant of record

Mic Check is supplied by 8 OClock, LLC. Direct payments are made to Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record and authorized reseller. Lemon Squeezy handles checkout, payment processing, applicable transaction taxes, receipts, refund processing, and chargebacks. Its Buyer Terms also apply.

Price and payment

Mic Check costs US $9.99 as a one-time purchase. There is no subscription. Applicable tax may be added based on your location, and the hosted checkout shows the final total before payment.

License

A Direct purchase grants one person a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Mic Check on Macs that person owns or controls. An organization should purchase one copy for each person who uses the app. You may keep a reasonable backup copy.

You may not resell, rent, sublicense, redistribute, or make Mic Check available as a shared service. You may not reverse engineer or circumvent technical protections except where applicable law expressly permits it.

Delivery and updates

After successful payment, Lemon Squeezy emails a receipt and makes the notarized Mic Check disk image available through My Orders. Mic Check requires macOS 13 or later.

The Direct purchase includes the version delivered at checkout and compatible maintenance updates that we choose to publish for that edition. It does not promise every future major version, a particular update schedule, or perpetual support.

14-day Direct refund policy

We offer a full refund if you ask within 14 calendar days of a Direct purchase. Email miccheck@8oclock.co from the address used at checkout and include the order number. Lemon Squeezy processes Direct refunds and retains authority under its Buyer Terms and platform rules.

This policy does not limit mandatory consumer rights. Apple handles Mac App Store refunds separately.

Availability

When Direct checkout opens, it will be offered wherever Lemon Squeezy accepts customer payments unless we expressly restrict it. Some countries, regions, and payment methods may be unavailable. The hosted checkout determines whether a purchase can be completed.

Product scope

Mic Check changes the macOS system default input. An app configured to use a named microphone may ignore that default, and complex aggregate devices or studio-routing configurations may behave differently. Mic Check does not record or process audio and is not designed for safety-critical use.

Warranty and liability

To the extent permitted by law, Mic Check is provided without warranties beyond rights that cannot legally be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, 8 OClock, LLC’s total liability arising from a Direct purchase is limited to the amount paid for Mic Check. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them.
